Job Description

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code based on User Stories.

Develop software using agile methodologies, adhering to team/company standards.

Participate in planning sessions with team members to analyze requirements and provide design options, work breakdown and estimates of work.

Demonstrate a focus on quality, through unit testing, integration testing and peer reviews, ensuring software meets requirements.

Create, review, and maintain all required technical reference material to ensure supportability and reuse.

Actively participate in team status meetings, providing timely status updates for areas of individual responsibilities within projects to supervisor.

Required Skills:

Experienced (0-3 years experience) software engineer with excellent knowledge of JAVA/J2EE echnologies• Familiarity with other languages including Java and Python, and the ability to put that familiarity into practice.• Solid technical background with understanding of programming styles, frameworks, design patterns and unit testing.• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around such issues• Understanding of security implications and secure coding• Familiarity code management tools such as Git• Good understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance• Superb communication skills, both verbal and written• Skill for writing clean, readable code and reusable components• Experienced in or a strong desire to work in a formal agile software development lifecycle.• Familiar with continuous build and integration• Experience with Test Driven Development and / or Behaviour Driven Development
