Job Description

Design, develop, and deploy Testing framework for scalable backend services on AWS for new and existing products and features

Build the Java micro-service backend API testing platform that powers the features and functionality of our clients from the ground-up

Work closely and collaboratively within a team setting amongst the engineering department; make architectural choices

Enhance and improve testing capability via DevOps, CI/CD and Automation

Highlight risk and issues via effective control and Standard Barclays processes.

Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirement and Barclays policies and standards

Responsibilities:

Strong Testing background, ideally within the financial sector.

Experience with Kafka testing would be highly beneficial to a candidate. This includes Kafka, Amazon MSK, Zookeeper, Producer, Consumer, and kafka connect.

Strong knowledge of core Java, SQL and Springboot.

Testing tools like Selenium, Cucumber, Karate and Protractor are a must

Strong knowledge on AWS (preferably Linux) and basic knowledge of other OS like Windows.

Knowledge on Infrastructure landscape will be beneficial.

Ensure appropriate Testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall etc.) are adhered to and have strong communication skills with other project stakeholders.

Experience in DevOps implementation and ability to continually identify automation and integration opportunities to continuous improvement in application development processes.

Hands on experience in tools like Git, Jenkins, team city, Agile Central, JIRA, Confluence will be an added advantage.

Required Skills:

Good solid experience and deep fundamentals in Software Testing

Knowledge of Effective Java from front to back

Experience developing a REST testing system – Karate, Protractor, Selenium and Cucumber

Experience with Kafka

Experience with API, Micro services Testing

Experience in Test design, Test development and Testing of Kafka / AWS

Experience in writing acceptance tests

Experience with SQL/NOSQL systems, such as MongoDB, Oracle

Experience in TDD/BDD and achieving high test coverage
