Job Description
The role is to develop and maintain tools and processes to ingest, check, convert, store, select, customize and supply patent data for various products. In addition to considerable technical skills a good understanding of the data content is given. A conscientious and accurate work style is crucial.
Support the development of an AWS based Content Ingest and Management System
Documentation of existing patent processing for the development of a new system
Analysis of textual patent data
Programming of converters and processing routines for text and image data
Process analysis and design production processes
Coding and manufacturing of large customized data feeds
Software Maintenance and user support
Close cooperation with content analysts and developers in the US and staff at other locations
Technical Qualifications:
Trained programmer, proven by education and professional experience in the field of data processing.
Considerable experience with Unix (Linux) and common Unix tools, e.g. pattern matching, regular expressions, shell programming
Experience with IDEs (preferably Eclipse), Git, bug tracking
Knowledge of the AWS cloud environment
Experience with relational databases
Working knowledge of network-related issues (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, Secure Shell)
Good knowledge of OmniMark/Talend
Knowledge of XML, Unicode, DTDs, XPath, PDF, TIFF and similar formats
Windows and Microsoft Office software
Strong problem solving, data analysis and testing skills
